Silicon nitride ceramic
● Compared with aluminum silicate ceramic fiber, Silicon nitride ceramic has higher strength and better non-wetting property. When used for plugs, sprue tubes and hot top risers in the foundry industry, it has higher reliability and longer service life.
● All kinds of riser tubes used in gravity casting, differential pressure casting and low pressure casting have high requirements on insulation, thermal shock resistance and non-wetting property. Silicon nitride ceramic are the best choice in most cases.
● The flexural strength of Silicon nitride ceramic is only 40-60MPa, please be patient and meticulous during installation to avoid unnecessary external force damage.
● In applications where a tight fit is required, slight variations can be carefully polished with sandpaper or abrasive wheels.
● Before installation, it is recommended to keep the product free from moisture and dry it in advance.
Key advantages:
- High Strength and Hardness: Silicon nitride has an impressive combination of high strength and hardness, providing excellent wear and impact resistance even under extreme conditions.
- Excellent Thermal Shock Resistance: Silicon nitride ceramics can withstand rapid temperature changes without cracking or losing integrity, making it ideal for high-temperature environments, such as furnaces or engines.
- Superior Heat Resistance: With a high melting point and the ability to maintain strength at elevated temperatures, silicon nitride is perfect for applications requiring long-term stability under high heat.
- Low Thermal Expansion: This ceramic material has a low thermal expansion coefficient, which ensures dimensional stability during temperature fluctuations, reducing the risk of thermal deformation.
- Outstanding Corrosion Resistance: Silicon nitride is highly resistant to chemical corrosion, including acids, alkalis, and molten metals, making it suitable for harsh chemical environments.
- Lightweight: Despite its strength, silicon nitride is relatively lightweight compared to metals, making it advantageous in industries like aerospace and automotive, where weight reduction is critical.
- Electrical Insulation: Silicon nitride ceramics possess excellent electrical insulation properties, making them suitable for electrical and electronic applications that require materials with both high thermal and electrical resistance.
- Biocompatibility: This ceramic is also biocompatible, allowing it to be used in medical devices, particularly in orthopedic applications like implants.
